Piece together a journey from East to West, discovering enthralling national parks in the Canadian Rocky Mountains through this 7-day package. Immerse in nature’s grandeur as you explore Jasper National Park, the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies, an UNESCO World Heritage Site teeming with exotic wildlife and natural attractions. Embark on an exciting trip traversing the Icefields Parkway, one the world’s most beautiful highways, to discover the breathtaking wonders of Jasper and Banff National Parks, such as Bow Lake, Athabasca Falls, the Columbia Icefield and Maligne Canyon. Don’t miss an Ice Explorer ride to marvel at the Athabasca Glacier up close. Visit Yoho National Park, known for gorgeous waterfalls, the Spiral Tunnels and Emerald Lake, and stop by the stunning Lake Louise before returning to Banff to board the the elegant Rocky Mountaineer train. Your railway adventure moves onto Rogers Pass and the Last Spike of Craigellachie, passing along stunning landscapes of glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Arrive in Kamloops, a city filled with enticing restaurants, shops, art galleries, and wildlife parks. Finally, set off to Vancouver, admiring ever-changing sceneries out your window, from desert-like environments to massive forests cuddling river canyons and lakes.

Itinerary

Day 1, Jasper
Arrive in Jasper and spend time exploring this scenic city on your own. Overnight in Jasper.

Day 2, Jasper highlights tour
Jasper National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Canadian Rockies’ largest national park. Today, you will enjoy a scenic full-day tour of some of the park’s natural attractions and rugged peaks, and perhaps catch a glimpse of the wildlife that calls this region home. Highlights include lunch and a lake cruise at historic Maligne Lake. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore more of Jasper independently. Overnight in Jasper. (L)

Note: In the event the lake cruise is not operating, interpretive experiences will be offered on First Nations history, foods and culture.

Day 3 Jasper to Banff
Travel to Banff via one of the most scenic highways in the world, the Icefields Parkway. Among the highlights are Bow Lake, the Columbia Icefield, Glacier Skywalk and Athabasca Falls. The Columbia Icefield is one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle and one of the most accessible icefields in North America. Here, you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier to learn more about its geological features. Lunch is included at the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre. Afterwards, a brief stop will be made at Bow Lake before arriving in Banff this afternoon. Overnight in Banff. (L)

Day 4 Yoho National Park including Lake Louise
A half-day tour takes you into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders. Among the attractions are the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge spanning the Kicking Horse River. Arriving in Lake Louise, the remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy this magnificent location before your motor coach transfer to Banff. Overnight Banff.

Day 5 Banff to Kamloops
Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the mountain town of Banff to Kamloops, in the heart of the British Columbia Interior. Your journey takes you through a spectacular array of scenery as you travel between the glacier and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies, over mountain passes and through remarkable tunnels, along rocky lakeshores and across the ranchlands of the Interior. Today’s highlights include the Continental Divide, the Spiral Tunnels, Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass and Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. Overnight in Kamloops. (B, L)

Day 6 Kamloops to Vancouver
Your journey continues west towards the Pacific Ocean and the coastal city of Vancouver. On today’s journey you will again see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the Interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the Coast and Cascade Mountains and the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley. Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon. Your rail journey ends on arrival in Vancouver this evening. Overnight in Vancouver. (B, L)
